Sat oct 1, 2011 - The Robot Party

Slept in on the couch at the house until 9:30. Decided I'd rather be there to see the girls get up than be stuck at the office.

Made their day with donuts and chocolate milk before I headed straight to work on my task list, paperwork, web redesign (sales on the e-book site are non existent thus far and it's pissing me off). Got that part done and went shopping for costume stuff for the big Binary Party tonight...it's a robot themed birthday party for a buddy of mine who tricks out cars for a living. This group of people includes some really successful nerds. Those are pretty much my favorite kind of people because they're really good at something they're passionate about. And they have the money to do some really cool shit when they all get together. They all own a cabin in the mountains together and the trips up there are EPIC. I knew the people at the party would go all out for this whole digital robot thing, so I needed some pretty specific stuff to complete the look...silver body paint, led's, wiring, silver pants, and body armor.

Strangely somehow I manged to get it all done before heading over to Rain's house to get ready. We looked very robotesque, and I was pretty proud of the outcome, I gotta say.

Rain's homemade top to bottom robot suit...from a bustier, a skirt, some high heels she was willing to sacrifice and a whole lot of metallic duct tape.

Me post party...love being silver

Me in the dim light, showing off the chest strobe, led hand lamps, and red chasing lights on the ends of my shoes, ala Kit from Knight Rider.  FUN!!!

GREAT party. Everybody came out in the robot gear. There was an amazing buffet of liquors plus jello shots and even a bottle of MacGyver's famous homemade moonshine.  (peach) Sooooooo good! We downed the whole bottle in record time. Totally a moonshine fan!

Wish I had more pics to share with you from the party...I'll dig around and see what I can find. It was a pretty crazy experience overall...my favorite robot had an iPad framed into his chest and alternated Kama Sutra positions with robot dance visualizations all night. The host had wired the light system from a Cadillac Escalade into his robot suit along with a stereo system, all powered by a battery pack out of a Dewalt drill. See what I mean when I say that nerds with money are the best???

Left about 1:30 after Rain decided to go home with MacGyver. I had a hunch that would be the case. She's been trying to see us both and isn't very good at polyamorous relationships. He's less into her than I am. But she knows he still represents more chance of something long-term. That's not my game at all. Plus the fact that he knows she's been seeing me pretty intensely has really piqued his interest in her in that inherent, Pavlovian, competitive way we guys so often react. Pretty sure I'm just gonna let them take a shot at it and move on. I gotta get some of my projects moving further ahead and I need my time back.

Women are a lot of time investment. Really contemplating making he trip to Vegas for the Frank Kern deal too, which will really cost me money and therefore time. Plus with the new downtown place probably coming up, I'm gonna need even more time to work on it.

I could have hung around with the rest of the crowd and seen what went down with some of the women there, but the truth is, it felt like a really complete day even without getting some woman all worked up and horny. I slept well...it was agood day. : )
